Sutra was founded by Geethika , driven by her deep-rooted connection to Indian textiles,
culture, and the stories carried within them. What began as a personal vision to honour heritage
with honesty has grown into a brand built on intention, authenticity, and respect for craft.
This journey is strengthened by the constant support and shared belief of her husband, Pranay,
whose encouragement, perspective, and involvement have played an integral role in shaping
Sutra as a purpose-driven brand. Together, they continue to build Sutra with clarity, balance, and
long-term vision. At Sutra, we believe clothing is more than a finished garment.
It is a thread that connects land to loom, artisan to wearer, and tradition to the present.
Sutra’s collections follow two distinct yet complementary journeys.
Our heritage collections focus on state-based saree traditions, celebrating the craft native to a particular region of India. Each collection is rooted in story and soul — from weaving techniques and motifs to cultural context and everyday use. We work closely with artisan and weaving communities and choose to present these sarees on real local women instead of professional models, honouring authenticity and lived heritage.
Alongside heritage sarees, Sutra introduces seasonal kurta sets and anarkalis, designed for everyday and festive wear. These collections focus on fashion, refined fit, and aspiration, offering solid and printed styles with modern silhouettes that are comfortable, versatile, and effortlessly elegant.
While our soul lies in tradition, our designs are created for the women of today. We focus on modern, comfortable fits, thoughtful proportions, and wearability across seasons — allowing Indian wear to move seamlessly through daily life, celebrations, and quiet moments alike.
People are at the heart of Sutra. From the artisans who create each piece to the women who wear them, every decision reflects respect for human skill and lived experience. Featuring local women in our heritage collections is a conscious choice — authenticity cannot be manufactured; it already exists.
Sustainability is integral to how Sutra operates. We are mindful of our processes, materials, and packaging. Every order is packed using eco-conscious, sustainable packaging, reflecting our commitment to responsible practices and mindful consumption.

Our Journey Forward
Our first heritage collection, Threads of Pochampally, is a tribute to the women and weavers of Telangana who continue to preserve the Ikat tradition. Going forward, Sutra will continue to travel across India — one state, one craft, one saree tradition at a time — while evolving its seasonal collections to meet the needs of contemporary wardrobes.
Every creation at Sutra is guided by intention:
Through Sutra, we aim to build a bridge between heritage and the present — where tradition is not reinvented, but thoughtfully carried forward, respectfully worn, and meaningfully lived.
